Shiny
Well, shinier than they were, anyhow.
I spend a lot of time looking along the roof of Pegotty while steering, and there is this row of brass ventilators along the top that has probably not been polished in ten years. So today I set to with Brasso, and failed, so upgraded to abrasive cleaner and then Brasso, which sort of worked for the mushroom parts with lots of elbow grease. There were still the stem bits to do. A bike ride to the village shop, and I returned with Brillo pads. Paula attached bits of Brillo pad to a bolt and fastened that in the power drill to create a powered polishing device, which sort of worked better than manual scrubbing. Then more Brasso.
The result looks better than this picture which was taken in the evening light because it took that bloody long, but could still do with more work. Meanwhile Paula has been painting more decorations on the sides of Pegotty. I haven’t been publishing pictures of that as it is still work in progress, and probably will be till our lease is up and we are kicked off the boat.
