Under the Sea
Welcome to today’s thrilling installment of SPOT THE OCTOPUS. No, I haven’t gone crazy and started giving names to the octopuses as well as the squid. Octopuses are masters of camouflage and disguise. Imagine a cross between a chameleon and silly putty. They can change shape and color faster than Italy changes governments. So, the game is to find the octopus in this picture.
Don’t worry if you can’t spot him, there’s a video later to help.
Today we mostly hung out in a tree, or went down to the beach and snorkeled. I finally go to see one of the local sea turtles. Turtles are air breathing, so they have to surface every so often, like this.
The local starfish are of the skinny variety. Most of they have the regulation five legs, but there are a few mutants out there who have six.
This was cool. We swam into a crevice in the cliff that got narrower and narrower, and then opened up into a water filled crevice. Paula was a bit unsure about going in, but loved it when we were in there.
Here’s some more sea life.
Finally a brief clip of that octopus. Apologies for the camera movement and the photobombing fish, I was being pushed around by the waves.
